Norma P. Sepulveda is the Story Editor and Head Writer of Disney Junior’s Ariel, a preschool series inspired by The Little Mermaid, currently airing on Disney platforms worldwide. The show follows a young Ariel on magical adventures with iconic characters like King Triton, Ursula, Sebastian, and Flounder—plus a few new faces making waves.
Alongside Ariel, Norma is developing an original animated series at Disney Junior and previously developed an original project with Netflix Original Animation. Her writing credits include Firebuds, Spirit Rangers, Mickey Mouse Funhouse, and Elena of Avalor, where she kicked off her animation career as an apprentice writer. She’s also lent her creative voice to development teams at DreamWorks, Spin Master, and Moonbug—just to name a few. Born and raised in Southern California, Norma is a proud Indigenous Chicana whose stories tap into identity, belonging, and culture with humor and heart. She holds a BA from California State University, Northridge, and an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory. Norma is currently expanding into live action, where she brings the same bold voice and emotional core to projects that dig a little deeper. No matter the format, she’s all about stories that stick—with meaning, with feeling, and with flair. |
